Have been waiting for an opportunity to live in France? So, this is your great chance. The French Government accepts now applications from students wiling to become a Foreign language assistant in France.
To participate, you need to:
- Be a native speaker of the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, German, Hebrew, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish)
- Be enrolled in higher education in your home country
- Age between 20 and 30 years (35 years for some states)

The eligibility criteria vary according to each country, so it is fundamental to check the rules that apply in or case.
How does it work?
This program’s main objective is to contribute to students’ mobility all over the world who are eager to learn more about French culture while assisting locals with their language and sharing their culture to French schools.
The language assistant will help pupils with conversation practice, participate in several educational activities held in the school, lend their voices to the school’s audiovisual productions, and bring about other academic projects.
The program’s total duration of the contract is seven months. The working hours is 12 per week. As an assistant, you are a temporary employee of the state. The gross salary is €976.49 gross (approximately €770 – €785 net.). You can work in primary schools, secondary schools, or high schools. You can also point out which areas of France you would like to work in. Thus, you are entitled to 2 weeks of paid holidays.
My suggestion is to choose the small cities where the cost of living is lower than bigger cities, such as Paris, Lyon and Nice. Remember that the cost of flights and other costs are not covered by the program.
